Lemba, a Mahungu adventure
Lemba deals with the human condition, the possibility of human perfection, and its relationship with the creator. As the art of inner pacification, it aims to calm and tranquilize the inner and outer forces, in order to facilitate the connection to the supreme creator.
It all starts with Mahungu. Some traditions of the world trace the origin of humanity back to a mythical figure, considered to be the first of humans, and from whom the entire human family is said to have emerged. Mahungu is in this category of character. He is the original being who transcends all phenomena and remains immersed in divine states. Androgynous, both male and female, complete, fully realized, and possessing all physical and spiritual powers, he remains in perfect communion with the Supreme Creator of whom he is the pure manifestation. One day, Mahungu found himself in front of a tree. Curious, he walked around it. Immediately, he lost all his spiritual powers. The unique and complete Being that he was split in two, generating two distinct entities: Lumbu a man, and Munzita a woman.
Mahungu's division thus had physical implications, through the separation of the androgynous being into male and female; and spiritual implications, through the total loss of the state of spiritual wholeness. The Lemba teachings then aim to bring the practitioner back to the initial state of spiritual wholeness, to the Mahungu state of inner power.
The inner journey to which Lemba invites you begins with your ordinary self, and brings you back to the same self this time purified, transformed, letting the splendor of mindfulness shine through. This is the complete and inner condition of Mahungu.
